Welcome to Friends of the Aged
‘Friends of the Aged’ (FOTA) is an initiative of Care Nehemiah International (CNI) an NGO which is an affiliate of Helpage Ghana.
The present generation is enjoying the fruits of the ‘’blood toiled’’ labour of our senior citizens and forefathers, however not much is being done by the younger generation to appreciate the older generation.
The society in which we live is such that, the breaking down of the extended family system has seen the older generation unattended to. Majority of the youth are neglecting their responsibilities towards the Aged in the community, probably due to low sensitization on the need to reciprocate the good deeds of our fathers back to them in their old age.
The Friends of the Aged has identified the urgency in providing companionship and other needs of our dear senior citizens. As such, FOTA has outlined series of programs, projects and activities to achieving our goal. One of which is the socialization trip to the Helpage Aged Centre and other areas in the not too distant future.
